Protect Your Transmission with Fluid Maintenance

The benefits of regular servicing

Regularly servicing your vehicle's transmission fluid has not one, not two, but three major benefits.

  • Firstly, it prolongs the lifespan of your vehicle. Clean transmission fluid lubricates the various intricate components, reducing wear and tear, and prevents overheating, allowing your vehicle to perform optimally and efficiently for longer periods.
  • Secondly, proper transmission fluid service leads to smoother gear shifting. Over time, dirty or worn-out fluid reduce the seamless gear changes we have come to expect.
  • Thirdly, it is better for your wallet. By staying on top of transmission fluid service, you can avoid slipping gears and delayed acceleration to complete transmission failure, leaving you stranded and with a hefty bill.

Without the transmission your vehicle would not be able to move between gears. The transmission fluid allows you to do this smoothly and also protects the working parts inside your transmission.

The transmission fluid doesn't diminish through use. Yet the level should still be checked periodically because if there is a leak, or the fluid level is low. It will harm the internal parts of your transmission.

Transmission Fluid can, however, become dirty over time with metal shavings and other particles which will shorten the life of your transmission. Replacing a transmission is a costly exercise and so checking the fluid and replacing it when necessary is a good investment in the long run.

At Combined Automotive Services we provide a full 65 Point Vehicle Inspection report upon request with every full car service. This includes a check of your transmission fluid and we will advise you if we think your fluid needs to be replaced or if a transmission service might be needed.

As well as car service for most makes and models, we perform transmission service for a wide range of makes and models. We also offer full manufacturer's log book servicing which will protect your new car warranty.

You have the right to choose a mechanic for car service. Simply book a service for your car or contact Combined Automotive Services, tell us about your car and your last service and we can give you a quote today.
